Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a principle based on behavioral science in understanding and changing behaviors.  We believe that various environmental factors play a crucial role in shaping an individual's actions.  Through ABA, we utilize different strategies and techniques to help teach essential behaviors to learners that need the support.

common myths
about ABA

1. ABA is punitive and cruel: Some believe that ABA uses punishment to change behaviors. Like many other fields, the field of ABA evolved across time and in recent years, many ABA practitioners strive to provide individualized, trauma-informed care in order to best serve learners of different strengths and needs.

2. ABA is only for Autistic individuals: Some believe that ABA is a treatment designed for Autistic individuals. In fact, ABA is effective across a wide range of behavioral and developmental challenges, across neurodivergent and neurotypical individuals.

3. ABA trains children to be robotic: Some argue that ABA trains learners to act like robots. With proper ABA treatment guided by quality and experienced BCBAs, learners can learn functional and life skills while promoting and empowering individual uniqueness.
